Москвич Павел Аверченков — далеко не новичок на электронной сцене. Начав с интеллектуальных жанров «не для всех» IDM и noise, Павел успел «засветиться» на солидных европейских лейблах — FOEM (Германия), 32 Bit (Великобритания), Sweet Smelling Surfaces (Франция), а также американском DJs Anonymous. Его треки и миксы звучали в эфире целого ряда FM- и интернет-радиостанций по всему миру — Radio-E-Volution (Германия), enSonic.FM (Германия), Proton (США), ADNalternative (Аргентина), Play.FM (Австрия) и многих других.
Более того, в недавнем прошлом Павел успешно примерил на себя роли владельца независимого музыкального издательства и менеджера небезызвестной «Радиоточки» (radiotochka.ru; сейчас — rts.fm).
Со временем в голове молодого артиста созрел новый проект, который вполне можно окрестить экспериментальным — причем, в самом хорошем смысле этого слова. Основной идеей Otogi стало совмещение «серьезного» музыкального бэкграунда с более популярными танцевальными стилями — техно, хаусом и электро.
Бескомпромиссные и крайне талантливые хулиганские выходки — пожалуй, именно так следует охарактеризовать сегодняшний саунд Павла. Непредсказуемые мелодические конструкции и ревущий бас, положенные на неумолимый локомотив прямой бочки — работы Otogi звучат как никогда актуально и так и просятся в диджейские сумки модников, вроде Тиги, Boys Noize или Digitalism.
Треки этого московского продюсера уже по достоинству оценил (выпустив два релиза Otogi) известнейший канадский лейбл Play Records, три года назад открывший миру — ни много ни мало — звезду по имени Джоэль Циммерман aka Deadmau5.
В настоящее время Павел Аверченков активно работает в студии, не забывая уделять внимание сотрудничеству с такими музыкантами, как Tomas Andersson (BPitch Control, Gigolo, Shitkatapult), Mihai Popoviciu (Gigolo, Diynamic, Highgrade), а также с одним из самых востребованных австрийских диск-жокеев Tibcurl .

The duo are back in the game. Masomenos present Matou Ep to delight all of you. If you don’t know this unknown project from France you should be ashamed of yourself. This guys are the revolution, everything they do seems to be magnificent and this is another example of their fine deliverance. To raise the bets higher they invited another amazing producers to remix the first track, they are Kreon & Lemos, the Greek duo, one of the best things that happened in the scene during 2008. Matou Ep is filled with 3 tracks, all of them in the cutting edge of minimal techno.
I’ll start with the last cause that’s my favorite one… “One Inch a Day” has got a vocal that we all known ( i don’t remember from where…) and a rude dry beat that makes everything else look obsolete… it’s surely the purest thing i listened during January… i can’t get tired of it! The beat, omg the beat! Unmissable. “Hands Up” remixed by Masomenos, Kreon and Lemos is the track that opens up the Ep and it’s also a very nice one, lot’s of pumpy energy and the typical Kreon & Lemos deep beat, perfect to enhance the groove among the dancefloor. “NY” follows through the same paths! … The major key of this album and the reason why i’m posting this here is “One Inch A Day”, the track of the year so far! Release nr7 on Welcome to Masomenos..

With his new Maxi on Cocoon Recordings, Guy Gerber, our man for the big emotional moments on the dancefloor, will make our eyes shine bright in Christmas anticipation. After releases for his own label Supplement Facts, the club hits "Sea Of Sand", "Belly Dancing" and not to forget, his album debut "Late Bloomers", the Tel-Aviv-based Gerber could be found rightly in top positions in many newcomer listings in the past year. 2008 was a little more calm for him, but with "Timing", being just in time for the final, he again sets new standards in linking harmony with a hedonistic state of emergency. While "Timing" pleases us like a nocturnal-hypnotic romance in between a disco bass line, "Age of Love" flair and winterly sleigh bells, "Guilty Pleasures" takes back this playful love of details to the benefit of a tropical-dense percussive dub, however without appearing less mandatory on the dancefloor.
